Poppy Montgomery

The Unforgettable star, is now set to headline a single camera comedy after CBS orders an American remake inspired by the Australian comedy Upper Middle Bogan.

The potential series follows Bess (Montgomery) a Dr, wife and mother of twins as she discovers that she is adopted and her biological parents are a clan of over the top, but loving family of drag racers.

Set to star along side Montgomery is fellow Aussie and Upper Middle Bogan Alum Patrick Brammall, who is reprising his role as Danny for the inspired remake.

The network is keeping the production in the family with episodes being penned and produced by Dan O'Shannon (Modern Family) alongside the original Aussie series creators Robyn Butler and Wayne Hope. Todd Holland is set to direct the ordered episodes.

The casting of Montgomery marks a turn for the actress who has been headlining procedural drama Unforgettable until its recent cancellation making her available and highly sort after. This is not the first stint at CBS for the Aussie native who stared as Samantha Spade in long running FBI procedural Without A Trace.

While a categorical departure for the star, Furst Born, should not be a stretch in any sense of the means for the TV veteran, a welcome edition to any production.

We look forward to seeing where Montgomery and the rest of the production are headed.
